Saudis recall envoy in row over Danish cartoons
Saudi Arabia has recalled its ambassador to Denmark in a row about cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published by a best-selling newspaper. A Saudi government spokesman said the ambassador had been recalled for talks following Denmark's failure to deal with the insults to the Prophet.
Some of the cartoons in Jyllands-Posten last September depicted him as a stereotype of an Islamic terrorist. The paper said it was testing the boundaries of expression about Islam. It said at the time that both the paper and the cartoonist had received threats.
Ambassadors from several Muslim countries complained to Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who had earlier said he could not tell papers what to print, or not to. Islam bans any depiction of Muhammad or Allah.

Boycott
On Thursday, the Saudi government said it had recalled its ambassador "for consultations in light of the Danish government's lack of attention to insulting the Prophet Muhammad by its newspapers." Danish food producers Arla Foods said the anger sparked by the cartoons had prompted a boycott of its dairy products in Saudi Arabia.
Arla director Finn Hansen said there had been calls for boycotting Danish products in Friday prayers and on Saudi television and in newspapers. "We are certainly afraid this will spread across Saudi Arabia and affect our business," he told Reuters news agency.
There were street protests both in Denmark and in Muslim countries following the publication of the cartoons.

Thanks for posting on this topic. The Danish newspaper which published the original cartoons has been forced to apologize. The Brussels Journal blog which has led the reporting of this attack on free speech is now receiving threats. Given the state of free speech in Europe as evidenced by the Italian "prove Christ existed" case, I expect Brussels Journal to be forced to remove the cartoons and their reporting. To guard against that possibility, I have reposted the cartoons and the Brussels Journal reporting thread on my blog. iam happy as a muslim that we have stand as one hand especially the public prohibite itself from buying danish products i wish we keep it going because i see some people against
islam and who are really having too much contempt for muslim passing bad comments about muslims in the net and call us as smuggler . they are pigs i hate to swear but its true they are the pigs and Ishalla God will shake their land in an earthquick greater than the one happened in Pakistan.

I pray that Alla send all the torturment to Danish people and all who say or have in his heart a hatred toward muslims . Inshalla Muslim become one and cooperate against those pigs nations . i hope inshalla we have our own dairies for chess and other thing so we foreverboycott european products and have our own, our economy will grow and progress . we as muslim respect all the Prophets Messenger from God . these pigs should be punished inshalla By God , say "Amin".

Radical Muslims think that it is just fine to lop off heads and show the video, to send suicide bombers to kill innocent civilians and to generally wreak terror upon the freedom loving world. Yet they are upset at ccartoons depicting Muhammed ? Fuck them and the camel they rode into town on !

The most important to the atheist people are their feelings and their pockets. Your feelings, who cares?
They can bully you anytime, say and do whatever they want and if you retaliate you are aggressors and terrorists. If you shut-up they would continue to bully you. So you are in a lose-lose situation.
This is what they call freedom loving world.

I am a Dane and I gave like most of the danish people help to Pakistan when they was hit by an earthqake (I wonder which God did that?) and when I saw my flag burning my first reaction was "I want those money back".

Instead of praying try thinking about why some non-muslims have hatred or contempt toward parts of muslim culture. for example try visit www.jihadwatch.org and see for yourself. Here is an example from Indonesia:

We do eat pigs in Denmark (and it taste great) and everyday im grateful for living in Denmark - There are worse places in this world.

If you retaliate with violence then yes you are a terrorist. Whats your point?
The reason the cartoons was printed was because a lot of people was afraid of retaliation from our muslim guests if they dared critizise Islam. The paper wanted to see if censorship was in fact present in Denmark and they were right Im afraid. It's actually Denmark who are in a lose-situation. A terror attack will hit us in nearby time and innocent people will die and nobody will probably dare draw Mohammed again so sharia, violence, threats and superstition has won.
